Bonnie has chosen "derelict" as the suggested theme for
Photo Art Friday this week. For my photo, I've chosen an image of an ancient wood cook stove. It sits on the grounds of an old schoolhouse in the ghost town of Flora, Oregon (platted in 1897). The edit involved a texture, the Orton technique, and some work with Picasa 3. I rather like the colorful result!

That's a beauty of a stove!
This is great!! I love the subject matter and how you processed it.
What a great artistic transformation!
I'm lovin' it!
fabulous rendering!
it is a great photo subject!
while i love Orten, in this case i love the SOOTC more
What a cool old stove! It seems too bad that it's sitting outside getting ruined.
It almost has a pop art effect. Kinda cool!
what a great find to capture!!!
and wonderful processing.
Wonderful piece. First that is a cool looking stove. How odd it's just sitting out in the open like that. - Your edit is really neat and I agree that the colors brought it to life in a special way.

Amazing how these old abandoned stuff from yesteryear look so good, personally I love looking at the original photo, I still cant get my head around the touched up ones
Great image!
Evelyn, that's a wonderful transformation of an already beautiful photograph. We have an old wood stove in our cottage, not quite that neglected though. It's great for cooking on when we have to heat the cottage on cool fall days.
Really nice job in these photos! Haven't had much time on my hands as of late.
I love what you did with that old stove, brought out the details nicely.
Have a great weekend.. we're getting lots of rain.
Oh wow, you guys in America have so many good grungy things! This is amazing and your picture just perfect :)
A fantastic find Evelyn -- I'd want to take it home and have the hubby refurbish it. xo
I really like how it turned out!! :)
