Be Still #24 - Inspired by a Painting

Week 24 of Be Still_52 involves inspiration by a painting.   I must admit that the average Be Still participant probably doesn't have a bleached horse's skull lying around.  I don't, either, but I have an art major niece who left a bleached horse's skull and a horned cow skull at her parents' home when she moved to Los Angeles.  I'm a fan of much of Georgia O'Keeffe's work: skulls and flowers, especially.   I found the print on Art.com and was inspired to try it.  I fully intended to use a cow skull, never thinking that a horse skull was also available for my use.

The photo is stark, so I've leaned naturally toward black and white.

Texture Tuesday -- Black and White

I look forward to the spring bloom of my white bleeding heart plant--now plants, because I thought the initial plant had winter-killed, so I ordered two more little plants! These don't produce as many blooms as the red bleeding heart, but I love having these in a little shady space.   I'm linking up with Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday.

Week 8 of P52

A creamy white Gerbera daisy with an edit called "White Chocolate" is my choice for the eighth week of Kent Weakley's Project 52 and Sweet Shot Tuesday for 2014.

Week 6 of P52

Joining with Kent Weakley's Project 52 for 2014.... some trees I like to photograph in any season.  I've been experimenting with some black and white, for a change.

B&W eDition

Texture Tuesday is showcasing black and white images this week. The challenge is to post a black and white or a black and white with just a touch of color.   I've used kk_Autumn on this image: multiply blending mode, duplicated layer with soft light blending mode at 56 percent.

A Week Between Posts!

It's been a very busy week, and the only photos I took were ones of Kennedy -- again!  I was her babysitter for three days, and I spent one day with my 92-year-old mother.   I've posted this image on Facebook already, but I believe it's my favorite of the many I took.   I'm linking up with Madge's Weekly Top Shot today. (The sunglasses aren't just for looks....her blue eyes are very sensitive to light.)
